Yonna Group Board Chairman Muhammed Manjang presents to Malick Gibba as the company’s most outstanding standing staff of the year

The Yonna Group has recognized its Outstanding Staff of the Year, Malick Gibba, by presenting him with a cash prize of D50,000 and an iPhone 16 Pro Max. This prestigious award celebrates the hard work, dedication, and excellence demonstrated by Mr. Gibba, who stood out among his peers.
The award was presented during the Yonna Group Staff Retreat and Awards Ceremony held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center in Bijilo. This annual event is designed to celebrate and acknowledge the commitment and contributions of the company’s workforce.
In addition to the Outstanding Staff of the Year award, several other accolades were presented across categories such as Most Loyal Staff, Most Disciplined Staff, Best-Dressed Staff, and Most Hardworking Staff. Winners received cash prizes ranging from D5,000 to D15,000, as well as bags of rice, as tokens of appreciation for their efforts.
The Yonna Group also awarded Hajj tickets to three staff members in recognition of their exceptional contributions to the company’s growth and development.
Speaking to the press after receiving the award, Malick Gibba described it as a significant milestone in his career.
“The award has been something that is very important as far as my professional career is concerned, as a matter of fact this is the biggest achievement I have ever had since I started my professional career, and I am so proud to be the outstanding staff of the year for the Yonna group,” Mr. Gibba said.
He expressed that receiving this achievement was unexpected but believes it reflects the recognition of his hard work by the management and senior staff of Yonna Group.
Mr. Gibba also extended his gratitude to his colleagues in the IT department, acknowledging their collective efforts that made it possible for such an award to emerge from a department few would have anticipated.
“However, I believe my staff and myself were so committed to ensuring that the operation worked smoothly within the Yonna Group,” he noted.
Mr. Gibba explained the critical role the IT department plays in supporting the company’s operations, highlighting its commitment to addressing daily challenges and ensuring seamless functionality across the organization.
“We will spend every hour in the office whenever we are needed to ensure that everything goes smoothly as far as operations are considered. You would agree with me that in this modern day of technology, all operations are related to IT In many aspects. And as a matter of fact, the IT department that I have been leading since I joined the Yonna group has shown so much dedication and commitment to ensure everything that is related to IT and the functionality of the respective departments of Yonna group is all in place without challenge,” he added.
Looking ahead, Mr. Gibba said his department is ready to tackle any challenges in the new year and remains confident in its ability to deliver solutions that support the Yonna Group’s continued success.
“We have been trying so hard to ensure that even though they are facing daily challenges with their operations, they have been ensuring that all Yonna group entries are being solved with IT-related issues,” he concluded.
