Westminster engages political parties to promote participatory democracy
Westminster Foundation, a British public body dedicated to supporting democracy around the world, has begun a five-day training to strengthen Gambian political parties for accountable and inclusive democracy.
The training which began at Baobab Resort on Monday seeks to encourage political parties to address marginalization of groups like youths, women and disables.
The training is being facilitated by Ms. Tina Fahm. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony at the Baobab Resort was attended by Muhammed Krubally chairman at the Gambia Federation of the Disabled, Alieu Momarr Njai at the Independent Electoral Commission and Sharon Wardle, British High Commissioner.
