Video Evidence Presented in Alleged Multi-Million Dalasi Fraud Case Involving Kaddijatou Kebbeh and Saikou Drammeh
Senior Lawyer K. Jallow presented compelling video evidence to Justice Ebrima Jaiteh in the ongoing civil suit between Gach Global Trading Company and its former employee Kaddijatou Kebbeh, along with former Gam Petroleum Managing Director Saikou Drammeh.
The videos show large sums of foreign currency—US dollars and Euros—displayed in bags and piled on a table in front of Drammeh. The footage also features Drammeh speaking in a local language, boasting of his wealth and laughing.
The lawsuit, filed by Gach Global Trading, seeks the recovery of D58,961,150, accusing Kebbeh and Drammeh of fraudulently acquiring and retaining the funds. The company further claims that Drammeh and Kebbeh illicitly obtained $221,000 in payments for petroleum products from the Gam Petroleum Storage Facility. Additionally, Gach Global demands D1,600, which it alleges was paid to Kebbeh as a commission for facilitating a petroleum agreement on September 16, 2021.
The company is also seeking D1,000,000 in legal and administrative expenses, along with 24% interest from August 31, 2021, until the judgment date, and a further 4% interest thereafter.
Representing Gach Global Trading is Lawyer A. Tambedou, while Senior Lawyers K. Jallow and B.S. Conteh are representing Kebbeh and Drammeh, respectively.
During the first pre-trial conference for Kebbeh, Senior Lawyer K. Jallow informed the court that they had filed a response to the amended statement of the second defense, introducing two additional videos as evidence. These videos show foreign currency in front of Drammeh, confirming the allegations of fraud.
Counsel Jallow also submitted an agency agreement between Kebbeh and Gach Global. However, Lawyer A. Tambedou objected, pointing out discrepancies between the document presented and the one she had been served. Despite the minor discrepancy, Jallow assured the court that the content was identical and requested permission to replace the document with the correct version.
Justice Jaiteh emphasized that the photocopy must match the original document in content. Consequently, Jallow withdrew the tendering of the document, noting that they would submit the correct version at a later date. The court acknowledged the true put agreement already admitted as exhibit P1, which Jallow confirmed they would rely on.
Furthermore, Jallow applied for a court order to summon Jah Oil to produce requested documents. The court granted the application, noting that Jah Oil had previously appeared but did not produce the documents due to the passing of Senior Lawyer Fafa Mbye.
Senior Lawyer B.S. Conteh, representing Drammeh, then began his pre-trial conference, submitting documents related to the criminal case involving Drammeh and Kebbeh, including the indictment and adjournment records. Conteh confirmed that additional documents would be presented later.
The court adjourned the case until May 22, 2025, with the pre-trial proceedings ongoing.
