UDP’s First National Youth Wing VP Calls For The Boycott of Gov’t ‘Witch-hunt’ Commission
By Buba Gagigo
Bubacarr Fulus Drammeh, the first Vice President of the United Democratic Party’s National Youth Wing, has called for the boycott of the new commission setup by government to investigate the conduct of Local Government Councils.
“BOYCOTT THE WITCH-HUNT COMMISSION. We can’t survive as a nation without justice, accountability, and transparency. The Mayors and Chairmen should not waste their energy and time to attend a witch-hunt Commission,” he said.
Mr. Drammeh said President Barrow is not doing this in the interest of transparency and accountability, nor is the president interested in any way in establishing the truth but rather, interested to bring honest and hardworking people down.
“This is unacceptable, and it should not be tolerated. We will remind Barrow and his cabal about the scandal at GPA (Gambia Ports Authority). Not forgetting the THIRTY-FIVE MILLION credited to Fatou Bah Barrow’s foundation and the COVID-19 Funds.
“Let Barrow establish a commission to make findings into these injustices if he is truly interested in accountability and development. A leader should be decisive, fair, and principled. Talib Bensouda has done a lot in transforming KMC into a modern and developed city. He should be motivated and supported irrespective of our political differences to deliver the type of development The Gambia needs. As stated by Barack Obama, “It is possible for people to be united by their ideas instead of divided by their differences.” he concluded.
