UDP Njau Ward Candidate Withdraws From Councilor Elections

The United Democratic Party (UDP)’s candidate for Njau ward, Amat Cham, has withdrawn his candidature from the upcoming ward Councillor Elections, according to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).
“The Independent Electoral Commission wishes to inform the general public that Amat Cham has withdrawn his candidature from the Councillorship Elections of 15th April 2023. The Returning Officer for Janjangbureh Administrative Area, Ahmadou Taal, has duly accepted the withdrawal of Amat Cham, United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate for Njau Ward in the Janjangbureh Administrative Area,” the electoral body announced on Wednesday.
As we go to press, It is not clear why Mr. Cham withdrew from the contest.
