Trust Bank Donates Items Worth 250,000 Dalasis To Farafenni General Hospital

In a continued effort to support healthcare delivery in The Gambia, Trust Bank has donated medical supplies and essential items worth over 250,000 Dalasis to the maternity ward of Farafenni General Hospital. 

The donation, presented on Wednesday, is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare services.

During the presentation ceremony, the Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank highlighted the longstanding partnership between the bank and the hospital.”This marks over two decades of collaboration, and we are delighted to once again contribute to the outstanding work you are doing, especially in the care and support of women and children within the community. For over twenty years, you have consistently provided quality healthcare services, often in challenging circumstances. Your commitment to improving maternal and child health is commendable, and Trust Bank is proud to stand alongside you in this vital work,” he stated. 

The Deputy Managing Director also addressed the ongoing challenges related to maternal health and access to quality care in the region. 

“As we all know, the challenges surrounding maternal health and access to quality care are ongoing, and Farafenni General Hospital plays a central role in addressing these issues in the region. The work you do is essential in reducing maternal mortality and ensuring that women and newborns receive the care they deserve. Every year, many women come to the hospital with the hope of a safe delivery, and it is your skilled professionals who make that hope a reality,” He Said. Kebba Manneh, Officer-in-Charge of Farafenni General Hospital, expressed gratitude to Trust Bank and assured them that the donated items would be used effectively. 

“The items will go a long way in solving the problems of the hospital, and it will also help the healthcare sector, and I also appealed to you to continue this generous activity. We want to say a very big thank you to the management of trust Bank for this generous assistance, all the items will be put into Good use,” he said. 

Malick B. Baldeh, Regional Health Director for North Bank West, also thanked Trust Bank for their support and encouraged other institutions to emulate their generosity.

This donation underscores Trust Bank’s commitment to supporting communities and improving healthcare across The Gambia.
