Pa Modou Mbowe, the APRC candidate for the “No To Alliance” faction, says that there is something wrong with the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) and that he is the one to fix it.
“There is a Commission going on right now, which means there’s something wrong, and I am here to fix it. I will first start with the revenue collection system, which I am going to digitalize to curb corruption to get funds and use the funds for the various projects that are needed. My priority is to digitalize the revenue base and also Health. We also want to look into our education system to up the game a little bit.
“The education system was high during the previous government, but now is low. Am not sure how they (other candidates) pulled their crowd but my crowd pay to come here, they financed themselves. I didn’t pay a dime for anyone to come here. That is different from somebody giving millions to buy a crowd. I come to change the municipality, so I am not going to corrupt people. I am not going to buy votes,” he said after his nomination.
Pa Modou Mbowe made these remarks while speaking to waiting journalists after his nomination at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) office in Kanifing. He is the candidate for the APRC ‘No To Alliance’ for the upcoming Mayoral Election in the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC).
