Dembo By Force Bojang, the Special Adviser to President Adama Barrow and National President of the National People’s Party, has made an emotional appeal to the people of Bakau to vote for Bakary Badjie in the upcoming election. Bojang said that if Badjie is not elected, it will be the fourth time in a row that the people of Bakau have rejected the ruling party’s candidate, and that the shame of this will be too much for him.
“For 17 years, I stood for the National Convention Party (NCP), and for 22 years, I stood behind the United Democratic Party (UDP). All of that time, I was in the opposition, and I was unable to wipe away your tears. You stood behind me, but I was unable to do anything for you. Now, I have seen someone who we brought into politics: President Adama Barrow. He appointed me as a Special Adviser, Religious Adviser, and Traditional Adviser. I have three positions, but I do not own them. They are for the people of Bakau. I am appealing to you. The shame is too much for me now. I have lost three elections. But today, I believe in the women of Bakau. Vote for Bakary Badjie. His victory is a victory for Bakau.” he said.
He also urged all NPP Supporters to reward what he calls Bakary Badjie’s sacrifice in leaving his ministerial position to contest for mayor.
“I have been in politics for a long time, and I know the habits of both men and women. I have given you Bakary Badjie for the upcoming election. He is a noble man. He left his ministerial position to help you at the council. He wants to help you know where your money is going. The mayor is a lower position than a minister, but he left his ministerial position to help you. Let’s show him our sympathy.” he said.
Mr Bojang has criticized the work of Talib Ahmed Bensouda, the Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), saying that the residents of Bakau have not benefited from any development projects undertaken by the council.
“The people of Bakau have not seen the work of the area council. I know that the people of Bakau love Adama Barrow. I have stood for you for more than thirty years. Not only that, but I have done everything you have asked of me. I have lied down when you asked me to, I have sat down when you asked me to, and I have closed my eyes when you asked me to. I have done all of this for you. Let’s change, I have changed.” he concluded.
Dembo By Force Bojang is the National People’s Party (NPP) National President and President Adama Barrow’s Religious Adviser.
