Lawyer Assan Matin, says the Gambia needs salvation as he endorsed incumbent Talib Ahmed Bensouda in the race for Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC)

“Our mission is to make sure we salvage KMC, which is very important. If you know KMC, we have to do more. He has achieved a lot in the past five years but more needs to be done. We don’t endorse people just clapping or whatsoever, we endorsed you to deliver more services. I have had a lot of chats with him, I see where he’s going and we will support all his efforts.

“This is not about UDP thing. I am always for the country. The country needs salvation. A lot of people are living under hardships because of failed politics and failed leadership. let’s think about that, the way we are, the Gambia needs to be reorganized and we need to have good leadership that can help us drives this country forward,” lawyer Martin says during an endorsement ceremony in Fajara on Sunday.

Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda in his acceptance speech said lawyer Assan Martin’s endorsement is an encouragement to do more;

“Today I am proud to be endorsed by Mr. Lawyer, Assan Martin. It is quite a privilege. And it is an endorsement not just to say Mayor you’ve done well, but Mayor work harder for the Gambian people. And it’s an endorsement, which is a partnership. Meaning I expect that Mr. Martin will be a partner of mine moving forward. I will hope to get his advice in the legal field, but also just as a regular Gambian who has a belief that Gambia should move further than it is today. He has been fighting for the people of KMC since I entered politics,” Talib Ahmed Bensouda said.
