The growing concern from the numerous accidents, disturbances and public nuisance have raised an alarm to the safety of other Gambians whose rights have been violated.
In light to this issue, The Gambia Police force under the leadership of inspector General Landing Kinteh have suspended all permits to hold political activities justifying that the matter has to be dealt appropriately in accordance of the law .
Party leaders and concern Gambian believe this is in contradiction to the 1997 constitution and that –this can only happen when there is a state of emergency which is determined by the National Assembly
The Former Interior Minister and leader of the Gambia Moral Congress have also reacted to the Police’s recent suspension of all permits to hold political activities, saying the law enforcement agency has no authority.
