Aminata Gomez, wife of Tallinding South Ward Councilor Karamo Ceesay, has confirmed that her husband was arrested and detained at the Anti-Crime Unit in Banjulinding
“The NPP militants came and wanted to use the community center for their cooking. But they found that the place was locked. They broke the padlock and entered. That was the time Karamo was informed and went to find out. When he arrived at the center, he got assaulted by the NPP militants in front of the Interior Minister. He (Karamo) reported the matter at the Bundung Police Station and came back to the center.
“That was the time they got him (Karamo) arrested and took him to Bundung Police Station. My brother visited him at the police station. He was told by the police that Karamo had to bring the ambulance if he wanted to be released. He was later moved to the anti-crime unit in Banjulinding. I went there, but they said he will spend the night there. They told me at the Anti-Crime that they don’t know why Karamo was there. According to them, they just got information that he should be detained there,” she told Kerr Fatou.
Karamo Ceesay is the newly elected ward Councilor of Tallinding South.
