Statement By Hon. Almameh Gibba
Asalamualaikum Warahmatulaihi Wabarakatuhu to all Men and Women of The Gambia
I am immensely grateful for the overwhelming support and unwavering trust you have shown me throughout the process of tabling The Women’s Amendment Bill 2024 in the parliament. Your encouragement, solidarity, and belief in the cause advocated within the Bill have been a source of great inspiration and strength.
While it is disheartening to acknowledge that the Bill did not progress to the final stage, I want to assure each and every one of you that your voices have been heard and your support has made a profound impact. Your engagement in the democratic process is a testament to our shared commitment to building a better future for our nation and upholding the values that define us as a society. In standing for our religion, our traditional practices and protection of our culture rights shall continue to be fought in this Country. We are fully committed to move forward to the next stage in enslaving ourselves in laws that is against our religion, traditional practices and Cultural origin.
Fellow Gambians, Setbacks are a natural part of the legislative journey, but they should not deter us from our collective mission to create positive change and improve the lives of our fellow citizens. Your continued support and active participation in shaping our nation’s laws and policies are crucial in advancing the progress and well-being of all members of our society.
Let us draw strength from this experience, learn from it, and channel our energies towards future endeavors that reflect our shared vision for a just, inclusive, and prosperous nation. Together, we can overcome obstacles, strive for excellence, and work towards a brighter tomorrow for all.
Thank you, once again, for standing by me and The Majority of Gambians people in demonstrating your unwavering support. I am honored to serve you and will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of our beloved country and stand against Laws to criminalized and punish our people for Only performing our Religious, Traditional Practices and Cultural Norms and values
With deepest appreciation and enduring optimism, Alluta Continuea:::::::::
