The Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation (SSHFC) has launched a five-day training program on the Social Security Management Information System (SSMIS) at the Ocean Bay Hotel in Bakau. This inaugural phase brings together representatives from 150 stakeholder institutions to deepen their understanding of the system’s capabilities and benefits.

The SSMIS is designed to enhance efficiency by providing seamless access to social security-related information. Key functionalities include streamlining employer and employee registration, simplifying payment processes, and enabling the easy download of account statements. The system also aims to improve how institutions interact with SSHFC by offering advanced tools for managing contributions, benefits, complaints, feedback, and claims.

At the opening ceremony, SSHFC Managing Director Saloum Malang described the SSMIS as a significant step in the corporation’s modernization efforts. He highlighted its potential to transform social security services, ensuring they align with the evolving needs of stakeholders.“The completion of the SSMIS is a result of our continuous commitment to modernize and enhance our services, ensuring that we are equipped to meet the evolving needs of our clients, as well as improve operational efficiency. This system represents a key step forward in streamlining processes, enabling faster and more accurate service delivery, and fostering greater transparency and accountability in the way we serve our beneficiaries and stakeholders,”

Malang stated. He urged participants to engage actively, share insights, and raise questions during the training sessions. Acknowledging that adopting new systems can present challenges, he emphasized the value of collaboration and mutual support in overcoming them.

“We deeply value the partnership and collaboration we share with each of you. Your involvement and support are critical in ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of the SSMIS. Today’s session is designed not only to help you better understand the features of the system, but also to equip you with the necessary skills to navigate and make the most of its capabilities. We are confident that, with your active engagement, we will be able to fully leverage this system to the benefit of all,” he added.

Fabuka Njaay, SSHFC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, described the SSMIS as a transformative advancement in social security management.
