“Some are even crying” – BAC Chairman Says Some People Cried Over His Withdrawal

Sherrifo Sonko, the Chairman of the Brikama Area Councils (BAC), after announcing his withdrawal from contesting in the upcoming local government elections said a lot of people are calling and some of them are crying and asking for him to stay in the race and contest in the May chairmanship elections.
“I know I have many supporters. So many people are calling me. Some are even crying, but for the benefit and interest of the party, if they don’t want to leave, I have decided to do the sacrifice as I sacrificed to take this seat from somewhere to the president for his national development plan. It is very important for the party to check the criteria and the mindset of those applicants,” He Emphasized.
The Chairman also claimed to have more supporters compared to other aspirants and that the people of the West Coast are yearning for him to continue his work.
“I know I have more supporters; I know the people of the West Coast are yearning for me to continue the good work that I have been doing, but please I am appealing to you, let us be generous, let us be very much willing to sacrifice for our party. Let us support any person selected by the Selection Committee,” He Appealed.
Sherrifo and eight other people applied to lead the ticket of the National People’s Party (NPP), for the upcoming local government elections in the West Coast Region. However, the Incumbent Chairman of Brikama Area Council, Sherrifo Sonko, has withdrawn his candidacy.
