Sierra Leonean ambassador bids President Barrow farewell

President Adama Barrow on Thursday afternoon received in audience the outgoing Sierra Leonean Ambassador to The Gambia, Soulayman Daramy, at the State House to bid farewell at the end of his diplomatic tour of duties in The Gambia.

Ambassador Daramy, who served as a diplomatic envoy in Banjul for the past four years extolled Gambia’s peace, saying The Gambia has always been a peaceful country.

“It can only improve. It’s what we have all been wishing for. It is a gradual process in terms of the changes that are coming now, but it is moving in the right direction. We will continue to pray that it gets better and better.”

Speaking of the strong bilateral ties between The Gambia and Sierra Leone, he advanced that the two countries have had excellent relationship since independence.

“It always grows from strength to strength, and they [Gambia and Sierra Leone] are the most cordially related countries on the continent. And I am pleased to have been a part of that process to make it grow stronger. It is an excellent relationship. It could only be better.’’ He said.
