Senegalese Man Arrested For Buying ‘Stollen’ Goats

The Gambia Police Force has announced that on August 7, 2023, Yankuba Manneh, a Senegalese national residing in Farafenni, was apprehended by the Farafenni police for his suspected involvement in buying stolen goats from local thieves.
“Prompted by a police intelligence report, an intensive surveillance operation was initiated to monitor Manneh’s activities. The suspect followed a distinctive pattern in which his accomplices (the thieves) would transport the stolen goats to a hidden depot. From there, Manneh would then acquire the stolen livestock for further illicit transactions.
“The operation led to his arrest at the said depot, where he was found in possession of five goats,” The statement said.
Additionally, the Gambia Police Force discloses that the suspect is currently in custody and cooperating with authorities during the ongoing investigation.
“While the suspect is currently cooperating with the police investigation, the public is urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious circumstances to the nearest police station,”
