The National People’s Party (NPP) top man who doubles as Deputy Youth Adviser to President Adama Barrow has refuted allegations that he campaigned for independent candidate Yunusa N. Bah in Kiang Central.

Saihou Mballow’s response came after Fafa Sanyang, National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for Kiang Central in the 9th April Parliamentary election alleged that NPP top brass including Mballow campaigned for his independent opponent, Yunusa N. Bah, who later won the race.

“This is a big surprise to me. To accuse the party leadership who spent their time and everything to see him and other NPP candidates win. First of all, I don’t campaign anywhere apart from the URR. People saw me on the television in Niamina. I was posted there because it is the place I know and they are the people that I can talk to. I have never campaigned for Yunusa, I have never been to Yususa’s village and I have been to LRR throughout the campaign period. This is a finished argument; I challenged him to bring a video or audio of me campaigning. I never went there to campaign. My answer is very simple: no I have never campaigned for Yunusa, I have never given a vehicle to anyone to campaign for Yunusa. Infact I was looking for a vehicle for our URR committee. If I had a vehicle I would have taken it to URR instead,” Saihou Mballow told King FM news review on Friday morning.

Further responding to the allegation, Mballow expressed surprise to hearing such a comment from Mr. Sanyang, his party’s candidate for Kiang Central constituency in the just concludedParliamentary election.

Meanwhile, Fafa further alleged that other NPP top men, Seedy Njie, Demba Sabally and Seedy Lamin Bah campaigned for the independent candidate Hon. Yunus N. Bah who defeated him (Sanyang).
