Sabach Sanjal NAM Wants To Join NPP Tonight, If Possible
By Buba Gagigo
The National Assembly Member (NAM) for the Sabach Sanjal Constituency, Honourable Alagie Babou Ceesay, expressed his desire to join the National People’s Party tonight, if possible.
The newly elected National Assembly Member as independent for Sabach Sanjal made these revelations while speaking to Kerr fatou after taking his oath at the National Assembly complex in Banjul earlier Thursday.
“It is true that I was a member of the National People’s Party, but the NPP has an alliance with the NRP and the candidate in Sabach Sanjal was an NRP candidate. That being the case it was impossible for the NPP to have a candidate in Sabach Sanjal and we felt that we own our Sabach Sanjal and we shouldn’t be controlled by any other party. But we should look at the interest of Sabach Sanjal, that being the case, I was elected as an independent candidate. If it was possible to move or cross carpet tonight to the NPP, I will definitely do that…I think Sabach Sanjal has enough trust and confidence in President Adama Barrow. Is it not possible for me to do anything more than supporting the interest of the NPP Government and supporting the national interest,” he told Kerr Fatou.
Alagie Babou Ceesay defeated NRP’s Ousman Touray in Sabach Sanjal Constituency after opting to be an independent candidate.
