Pa Modou Bojang, the CEO of Home Digital FM, alleges that he was verbally assaulted by RSM Omar Marra Sanneh in Brikama on Monday.

According to Pa Modou, he addressed the issue of women vendors being displaced in Brikama due to the road-clearing operation. Bojang, in a subsequent radio program, criticized Omar Marr and his team for arresting women vendors but not lottery sellers occupying the cleared area. Bojang states that RSM Omar Marra Sanneh confronted him after the program near the Brikama Mosque, insulting his mother and late father.

“I wrote a story about the operation clear the roads because the place where they asked the women to vacate in Brikama is now occupied by lottery guys. I called Landing Bojang about the issue, but he told me they got their licence before the start of the operation; however, he told me it doesn’t warrant them to occupy the place. So I conducted a program on the radio. I said Omar Marr, who is leading the operation, and his team are arresting the women vendors, but they are not arresting the lottery guys. I said that is not right,” Pa Modou Bojang explains.

While heading home after today’s program, he recounted an incident where the RSM allegedly approached his car as he engaged in conversation near the Brikama Mosque, hurling insults at both his mother and late father.

“He insulted my mother just like that. I told him that he was insulting me. He then insulted my late father as well. It was at this time that a lot of people gathered around. I didn’t react, I just started my car and went to the police station to report the matter,” Pa Modou Bojang told Kerr Fatou.

The Acting Police PRO, Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sissaho, acknowledged that Bojang had reported the incident, clarifying that it is considered a civil case rather than a criminal or police case.

“Just like you explained, he has reported the matter to the police station, saying that he was insulted. There was no physical violence or assault. Usually, those cases are not criminal cases, they are not police cases. Unless he (RSM Omar Marra Sanneh) was acting in his capacity as RSM and in uniform and active duty, We would have said misconduct, but they met just like you explained.

“He (Pa Modou Bojang) has the right to report the case to court. Coming to the police to report the case is also not a problem, we don’t have any issue with that. So it is good to explain to the person that this is not a police case, it is a civil case, so that they can use civil to resolve the matter. We are trying to call him (Pamodou Bojang), but he was not picking at the time, but they will keep on trying him,” Acting Police PRO Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sissaho told Kerr Fatou.

Pa Modou Bojang is the Chief Executive officer of Home Digital FM and Mengbe Kering TV.
