Return Leg: Gambia U23 To Battle With Burkina Faso Later Today

The Gambia U23 at 6pm Gambian time today, will face their counterparts of Burkina Faso in the returning leg of Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco 2023 qualifiers.
The Young Scorpions had defeated the Stallions a goal to nil in their first-leg encounter in Morocco on 21st September 2022.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Young Scorpions head coach, Abdou Jammeh told the GFF media about his side’s readiness for the encounter.
“We are done with the final training. We cannot rectify anything, or work on anything again. Now is to focus on the game for the boys to execute what we have been training,” he said.
Asked whether he has any pressure ahead of the game, he said: “The pressure will be how we manage and handle the game. That’s the only pressure. it is one nil win to the game, which is not balanced, and the rules are not favourable with our side. All we do is to defend our goal not concede, if that is possible, we will take the points and qualify.”
Coach Jammeh also announced the return of goalkeeper Lamin Sarr who recovered from Minor illness that kept him our for the past two sessions.
The Young Scorpions are seeking qualification to the TotalEnergies U23 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for June 2023 in Morocco, and the Summer Olympics in Paris 2024.
39 member Associations are engaged in African qualifiers. Morocco are automatically qualified as hosts to the final tournament. The remaining 38 teams are playing the qualifiers.
