The leader of Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) party Mai Ahmed Fatty, said his party is willing to negotiate the retroactive clause in the draft constitution for the development of the Gambia.

“We believe as a party that we should continue to negotiate with both those who don’t and those who believe in the retroactive clause in the draft constitution, so that we can find a common ground for the betterment of this country.”

Fatty continued that GMC are willing to collaborate, and always consult, if need be, because their priority is how to change and transform The Gambia; before he called for flexibility in the process.

“There has to be flexibility about the draft constitution, we believe that the process belongs to the parliament. Whatever happens, the parliament must have an input.”

The GMC leader also said politicians cannot continue blaming one another but must at some point, sit down and talk, and in any discussion, one must give-in and give-out.
