Ramou Sabally, the National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National People’s Party (NPP) Women’s Wing, has warned Gambians that they will regret losing President Adama Barrow, emphasizing his leadership qualities and patience.
“If we Gambians are not mindful until we lose Adama Barrow, I swear we will use touch light to look search for him. Gambians want to push him (President Barrow) to be a masquerade and hold a cutlass going around but he refuses. This is because if someone is very religious, he fears God. Barrow is someone who forgives and has patience.
When asked about citizens complaining about the economic hardship in the country, Sabally dismissed concerns, asserting that the prices of essential commodities had improved. “A bag of rice has gone now, sugar has gone down, flour has gone down, what is left?”
Sabally further stated that the majority of Gambians prioritize peace and stability when choosing a leader.
“Majority of Gambians who decide (election) want peace. They want a president who will not torture or jail them and that is Adama Barrow.”
Addressing her political shift from the opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) to President Barrow’s NPP, Sabally insisted that her decision was not driven by personal gain.
“I was not expecting anything apart from how the is right now. Because i sleep in my house peacefully and wake up in the morning and go to work but if you want to sit in the ‘grand place’ making audio and not working, do you think you will be equal to someone working? No! You will not. Those who are not working are the ones complaining plus the undocumented Gambians in the diaspora who cannot return to the country,” she said.
