President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Elected Chairman Of ECOWAS Authority Of Heads Of States & Govt

His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has been elected as the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government on Sunday at the bloc’s 63rd Ordinary Session in Guinea-Bissau.
“On the election of the Chair of Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, the Heads of State and Government elected H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government for a one-year term,” the Authority said.
The Authority also extended its congratulations to His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his election as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to His Excellency Julius Maada Bio on his re-election as President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Tinubu, who was sworn in as Nigeria’s president on May 29th, 2023, succeeds H. E. General Umaro Sissoko Embaló, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau who served as Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government for the past year.
The president of the Gambia, H.E. Adama Barrow, was among the Heads of State who attended the Sixty-Third (63rd) Ordinary Session in Guinea-Bissau.
