President Barrow Replaces Two Chiefs

President Adama Barrow has removed Jammeh K.K Bojang, the chief of Kombo Central District, and retired that of Sami District, Morro Jawla.
“The chief of Kombo Central, Jammeh K.K Bojang has been relieved from his post yesterday…He was replaced by Dembo Juju Bojang, also a native of Brikama Suma Kunda. I have made all effort to contact the outgoing chief of the district to no avail. However, the incoming chief Dembo Juju Bojang has confirmed his appointment to Mengbe Kering TV,” prominent journalist Pa Modou Bojang wrote on Facebook.
Kerr Fatou has also seen a letter dated 4th August 2022 informing the Chief of Sami District of his retirement.
“With reference to the letter Ref: LM 31/135/01 (235) 1st August 2022. I am directed to inform you that you are retired as Head Chief from 1st August 2022, in accordance with section 135(1) of the Local Government Act 2002 as amended,” the letter read.
The letter on behalf of his Excellency the president, and the Minister for Regional Government & Religious Affairs thanked the Chief for his invaluable service rendered to the nation and your people during the period you serve as Head Chief.
