President Adama Barrow has pardoned six Gambians and two Senegalese prisoners on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha.
“Following the recommendation of the prerogative of mercy committee, H.E Adama Barrow has pardoned eight (8) prisoners on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha, locally known as Tobaski. Six are Gambians, and two are Senegalese,” the State House Facebook reported today.
Section 82 (1) (a) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has given His Excellency President Adama Barrow the power to pardon prisons, after consulting the prerogative of mercy committee.
