His Excellency Adama Barrow, the President of the Republic of The Gambia, presided over the inauguration of the 48-kilometer North Bank Roads Project Lot 2 in Nianija, Central River Region (CRR).
The road project encompasses various communities, including Kaur Janneh Kunda, Kerr Gibbi, and Chamen.
In his inaugural address, President Barrow emphasized the meticulous design and execution of the road project, ensuring the incorporation of all necessary road safety considerations.
He further noted, “I am happy to add that a total of fifty-three (53) box culverts and twenty (20) Irish crossings have been constructed to ensure a proper drainage system for all the roads in the project area. Shallow drains have been constructed as well to ease the flow of water from the road structure to outfalls.” Lot 1 of this project was previously inaugurated, expanding access to agricultural lands, essential facilities, and business enterprises.
