PPP Is Putting Up A Candidate For Mayor Of Banjul
By Buba Gagigo
Kebba Jallow, Party Leader of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), has confirmed that his party will put up a candidate to contest for the Mayor of Banjul in the upcoming Local Government Elections.
“We have already settled down on about two candidates for the upcoming Local Government elections. For KMC we have not settled on one yet but we have one for Banjul. When our Candidate comes up, it will be a bombshell in the country. We are also thinking about the West Coast Region. For Councilors, we have already identified twelve to fifteen candidates across the country. We don’t want to stretch too much because it may hurt us. For the selection process, February 7th is the last day for application and after the 7th we will announce our Candidates,”
Hon. Kebba Jallow made these remarks on Saturday on Kerr Fatou’s weekly public affairs mainstay – the Brunch after the National People’s Party (NPP) revealed the National Reconciliation Party (NRP) and Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Construction (APRC) as their partners for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) supported and campaigned for president Adama Barrow during the last presidential election but was excluded from the NPP’s list of coalition partners to contest the upcoming Local Government Election.
