The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) constituted its National Executive Committee (NEC) on 29thOctober, in fulfilment of Article 14 of the party’s constitution.
Under the leadership of PPP Secretary General, Hon. Kebba E Jallow, and the National President, Hon. Duta Kamaso who serves as the chairperson of the NEC, the development came ahead of PPP’s midterm congress scheduled on 26th November 2022 at Mansa Konko Area Council hall.
The event in Jara Soma, Lower River Region attended by 2 (two) representatives from the 53 constituencies, the Central Committee, and National Secretariat members constituted the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.
The NEC is the highest organ of the party between congress and has such powers to carry out all decisions and instructions of the National Congress, direct the work and supervise all other party organs, receive reports, supervise the work and give directives to the Central Committee as per when necessary in accordance with powers vested on it.
Other senior party members of the party such as the National Mobilizer, the National Women Mobiliser, Youth and Women President, a cross section of the Regional Chairpersons, and members of the party’s Board of Trustees, and National Administrative Secretary who chaired the meeting.
