The Gambia Police Force has released Sira Touray, the wife of Mbemba Drammeh, after questioning her at Police Headquarters in Banjul regarding her husband’s passport.
Speaking to Kerr Fatou after her release, Touray confirmed that she had provided her statement to the police and was informed that she might be called back if further clarification is needed.
“I have been released after giving my statement at the police headquarters in Banjul. They said they will call me if they need me anytime,” she stated.
Earlier today, Touray also reported to the Immigration Department as part of her bail conditions and was instructed to return on Friday. She was previously questioned about Drammeh’s passport, which he allegedly obtained on January 20, 2025. Following her interrogation, she was granted bail with a bond set at D100,000.
A family member disclosed to Kerr Fatou that the investigation centers on the circumstances under which the passport was issued and reportedly handed over to Touray.
