The Gambia Police Force has apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in an alleged armed robbery incident reported at Kairaba station on February 16, 2024.
According to authorities, the arrests stem from a reported gunfire incident targeting an individual in Fajara. Initial investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly attempted to forcibly enter the complainant’s residence with the intent to rob him, believing he possessed money. As they attempted to escape, they discharged firearms and fled in a BMW. Law enforcement successfully recovered the vehicle, pistol, and ammunition. Both suspects are currently in police custody as investigations progress.
“This followed a reported incident of gunshots against an individual in Fajara. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects intended to forcibly break into the complainant’s residence to rob him, believing he had money. During their escape, they fired shots and fled in a BMW. The vehicle, pistol, and ammunition are all recovered. Both suspects are under police custody as investigations continue,” they said
The police emphasize the importance of public vigilance and encourage individuals to promptly report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
