Police Confirms Alleged Nyofelleh Mobile Thief Is A Police Officer

Deputy Police PRO Cadet ASP Muhammed Y Darboe has confirmed that the alleged thief who was arrested in Nyofelleh is currently on trial to become a police officer.
“He is among our people who are on trial to be a police officer. He is among our drivers and he’s on trial. He is part of the people selected and given On Service of Gambia Government (OSGG). This paper is given to people who are civil servants working for the government and driving government vehicles. We cannot remove him from us. He is part of the people whose documents are under process to start getting paid, he has not even started receiving a salary but he’s with us and working with us. He’s currently held at the police station and he will be dealt with accordingly,” Deputy Police PRO Cadet ASP Muhammed Y Darboe told King Fm radio on Wednesday.
LSTV on Monday reported that one Modou Mbowe, a Farato resident was caught in Nyofelleh on Monday 30th January 2023 after allegedly stealing a mobile phone from a shop. He (Modou) claimed to be a police officer when he was caught.
