A 47-year-old man was apprehended at The Gambia Airport on Sunday, January 27th, 2024, by the Gambia Police Force for purportedly trying to smuggle a 17-year-old girl out of the country without parental consent.
“The suspect is currently in police custody, actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation,” the police said.
In a ‘strong’ advisory, the police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may hint at human trafficking.
