PKF: We Have Always Attended Regulatory Meetings On Receipt Of Formal Invitation
Press Release From PKF – February 1st 2024
Our attention has been drawn to certain publications alluding/regarding our Firm’s non participation at a meeting of the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) on Tuesday 30th January 2024 It must be pointed out that unlike what could well be expected under circumstances such as this, all such publications / comments have been without any request for clarification or further information from us.
We are to state that as a Firm of International Standing and utmost good repute, one which has provided unflinching and unrivalled service to The Gambia both in the private and public sectors and one which has so far trained the highest number of Accountants in The Country (ACCA Qualified) over the years, we adhere to all Laws and Regulations and take very seriously the need for accountability , probity and good order.
Therefore, we do not take our obligations and responsibilities lightly nor take lightly the responsibilities of those charged with Governance and all other Stakeholders. Most importantly however, we only render such service if and when engaged and attend regulatory and other meetings if we receive due notification. We have always attended regulatory and meetings on receipt of formal invitation or notification and do observe strict guidelines as to who represents our Firm, due to the importance attached to our Governance Structure. We remain firmly committed to this.
Considering that we have in the past and still provide support to the National Audit Office (NAO) through auditing certain Public Enterprises (PE) or Projects, we have held a meeting with the Auditor General after the aforementioned publications, during which we fully addressed the issue of our said non-attendance at the FPAC meeting. We also proffered advice as to how gaps in expectation and /or misconceptions can be avoided in future.
We remain committed to collaborating with the NAO at all times and would like to add to the only one PE audit we undertake on its behalf at the moment, subject to our Risk and Quality Management Guidelines.
For information purposes also, we have only just rebranded. Our rebrand is not just about a new logo; it reflects our evolving vision and commitment to innovation and excellence.
Like our international network, our refreshed identity is modern and dynamic. Our new icon embodies movement and represents the 5 continents that PKF operates in. It celebrates
collaboration, our collective vision and our global reach.
We are excited for this new chapter and look forward to continuing our journey together with NAO and our other business partners.
In conclusion , YOUR VISION IS OUR AMBITION.
