PAP Nominated Two Aspiring Councilors In Kanifing Municipality

The People’s Alliance party (PAP) on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, filed nominations for two aspiring councilors in the Kanifing Municipality (KM).
The two aspirants tendered their nomination papers at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) regional office in KM for the upcoming elections.
The IEC Returning Officer for Kanifing Municipal Council, Joseph Colley, who is also the Commission’s Vice-chairperson went through the submitted documents of the PAP two aspirants, such as asset declaration forms, and nomination forms showing the number of registered voters among other required documents.
Following the submission of their credentials to the IEC, Adama S. Touray, PAP’s aspiring candidate for Bundung Mauritania highlights his plans for the Ward if elected.
“I have plans for my ward, because I know there. I am in Bundung since 1991, so I know a lot. There are things that we should do and things we shouldn’t do. I know everything. We have to make roads for them. We have to help the children, especially those going to school. I want to definitely sponsor them If I have this seat. That is my main target because education is the key to success. If you have an education everything will be fine,” he said.
Mr. Touray said he is a hundred percent sure of winning the election come April 15, 2023.
“You know if you are going to war, you never pray to lose you always said I will win. Secondly, the people pointed me out to contest, I can’t count on them. People came to my house on more than three occasions. During the process also I see how they supported me. So I know 100% that I will win by Allah’s grace there is confidence “Mr. Touray stated.
Meanwhile, Assan Gaye, PAP’s Aspiring Candidate for Bundung Borehole Bantaba called on women and the youth of his ward to come together and bring the change they want.
“We can bring change in our community. So doing this, we want to invite all the women and youth. We are not also leaving the men behind to come and support and guide us through our plans. So that we can achieve this together as a community,” He said.
Mr. Gaye said his number one agenda is peace and unity. He said told the press that he wants to bring everybody together to support one another.
Mr. Gaye believed that they cannot do anything without unity.
Mr. Gaye, said if elected, he will work with his opponents to bring the development they are all calling for.
According to the IEC’s schedule, candidates for the People’s Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism(PDOIS)and People’s Progressive Party(PPP)are expected to file their nomination papers across IEC Offices in the country today, Match 22, 2023.
