Wednesday, 10th January, 2024: The National People’s Party (NPP) expressed its
heartfelt congratulations to its dear Party Leader and Secretary General, His
Excellency, President Adama Barrow, for being awarded the prestigious “2024 Africa
for Peace Promotion Award” by the African Conference for Promoting Peace and
the Dubai Peace Forum. This remarkable achievement is a testament to his
unwavering commitment to fostering peace, stability, unity, and reconciliation in The
Gambia and globally. His leadership quality embodied a divine nature of resilient,
tolerant, peacefulness, reconciliatory and democratic values that breeds peace which
is a catalyst for a sustained growth, coexistence and harmony.
This global recognition as “Africa’s Most Peaceful Man and President, 2024” is indeed
a pride not only for us as a party but a gigantic National and Continental achievement.
His Excellency’s leadership has been a source of inspiration and a beacon of hope for
young emerging African leaders. President Barrow’s dedication to the fundamental
principles of peace, tolerance, and inclusivity has been inspirational virtues for leaders
across the continent of Africa. This recognition is a well-deserved vote of confidence
on President Barrow’s quest for a more just, peaceful, and prosperous world, and this
resonates well with his vision for Africans’ liberties, freedom and rights are respected,
protected, ensured, and assured for a sustained democracy, rule of law and
development for the benefits of this generation and generations yet unborn.
President Barrow’s thoughts and beliefs that “the West developed and continue
developing is because of a sustained peace and democracy” indeed, is vindicated by
this recognition. This has been further manifested by his consistent demonstration of
exceptional qualities as a man of peace, tolerance, democratic values. His unique
character and aptitude of conflicts resolution through dialogue, diplomacy, mutual
respect, and understanding has had a positive impact on the socio-political landscape
of our nation and beyond.
On the home front, President Barrow’s continued commitment to upholding the
fundamental principles of democracy, rule of law, peace, and fundamental rights to
building strong institutions has strengthened the foundations of our democratic
institutions, earning him admiration not only within The Gambia but also on the global
stage.
This accolade, therefore, has not only recognises his individual accomplishments but
also serves as a source of pride for us as our political party leader and to all
Gambians as President and Head of State. His leadership has elevated The Gambia’s
standing on the global stage and instilled confidence in our collective pursuit of a
peaceful and prosperous World.
Once again, congratulations to His Excellency, President Barrow on this well-
deserved honour. May his dedication to a continued peaceful and developed Gambia
inspire us all for a better Africa and World towards greater stability and prosperity in all Nations.
