The Gambia Ferry Service management has announced a temporary halt in ferry operations between Banjul and Barra for the next 24 hours due to ongoing maintenance work on both ferries.

In a statement released on Monday morning, the management of the Gambia Ferries expressed regret over the breakdown of the two ferries at the Banjul/Barra crossing, leading to the suspension of services.

“The Management of the Gambia Ferries regrets to inform the general public on the breakdown of the two ferries at the Banjul/Barra ferry crossing. As a result, there may be no ferry for the next 24 hours,” the ferry Service Management said in a statement on Monday morning.

However, the management assured the public that their engineering team is working diligently to expedite repairs and resume ferry operations at the earliest opportunity.
