NAWEC Officially Begins Sourcing Power From Guinea-Conakry

In a press release issued on October 24, 2024, The Gambia’s National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) announced that it has officially started sourcing electricity from Guinea-Conakry.
“As of 12th October 2024, NAWEC has officially begun sourcing power from Guinea-Conakry. This milestone enhances our energy options, contributing to a more diverse and reliable electricity supply. As part of the OMVG interconnection network, this achievement strengthens regional energy collaboration and supports our commitment to delivering better services to the nation. NAWEC remains dedicated to powering The Gambia’s progress.” the statement read.
The National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) is the primary electricity and water provider in The Gambia.
