The Gambian Bologna forward Musa Barrow said the Scorpions attack as a team and defend as a team in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021) in Cameroon.
“At this team, we attack as a team, we defend as a team. So I don’t have problems. In any position, I am asked to play because I am ready to play for the nation. I think, this team (Scorpions), we play as one team. There is no star in this team, because as you can see in the qualifiers, I was there but other players give more on the pitch than me. I am happy that in this AFCON, I am doing well. So we will continue to be humble and continue fighting with this spirit. There is no star in this team, everyone is a star in this team,” Barrow said.
The Gambian forward further stated that their preparation for the AFCON was very good; saying the most important thing is for him to be on the pitch to give his best to the Gambia.
“Finally, we are here trying to help our nation to give everything to our country and we are doing that,” he added.
Barrow described Gambia’s preparation towards the AFCON 2021 as “good.”
“The preparation for this AFCON was very good. Normally we don’t have 10 days to prepare for the qualification games. But before the AFCON I had a training camp with the team and from there I tried to develop myself more to get ready for this AFCON,” Barrow said.
The Scorpions will be playing later today against Tunisia in their final match in Group F where they levelled on 4 points with Mali as leaders.
The scorpions have already qualified to the next round of the competition after the Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Guinea Bissau 2-0.
