Mayor Lowe Urges Unity Within UDP, Calls for Supporters to Overcome Differences
By Buba Gagigo
Rohey Malick Lowe, Mayor of the Banjul City Council, has called for unity within the United Democratic Party (UDP) and urged supporters to rise above minor disagreements.
“Our focus is the United Democratic Party, dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by Gambians. Our leader, Alagie Ousainou Darboe, deserves our respect and support. Let us set aside petty disputes and instead keep him in our thoughts and prayers for a long and healthy life. To the women of the party, who are the driving force behind our progress, I trust you will not let anything undermine our collective efforts since 1996. Stand strong and have faith in our party. Statements like ‘Darboe is old’ or ‘a Mandinka cannot be president’ have never been part of our discourse. It’s essential for us to unite and reject such sentiments. Stay alert and committed,” Mayor Lowe emphasized.
Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe shared these thoughts at the UDP convention in Spain, addressing party supporters.
