The Lord Mayor of Banjul said that Banjul City Council (BCC) has awarded scholarships to two hundred (200) youth in Banjul to pursue tertiary education.

“We have awarded scholarships to two hundred youths in Banjul to enroll in the University of the Gambia, GTTI and other institutions,” she said.

Mayor Lowe called on Banjulians to continue working together to achieve the goal of developing the city and said, “the city council continues to register significant changes”.

The Lord Mayor told the people of Banjul South that her office is committed to upgrade the standard of living of the city dwellers.

She added that she addressed the electricity challenge at the council office, after running on a generator for more than 4 years.

The Mayor made the remarks at a town hall meeting in Banjul South on Saturday. The Local Government Act 2002 requires the Mayor to tour the city and interact with the people to hear from them what their constraints are for redress.
