Mayor Banjul Starts 1-year Online Programme At Harvard University
Rohey Malick Lowe, Mayor of Banjul has today embarked on a 1-year training program as part of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative’s Sixth cohort of Mayors. The training program which is mainly done online “offers leadership and management training to 40 mayors from around the world, and to two senior officials from each mayor’s city who are most crucial to affecting organizational change.” It has a 4 day in person classroom requirement which the mayor is currently attending in New York City.
The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative is offered by the Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University, and has as it’s primary objective to equip Mayors and city officials with tools to enable them tackle issues affecting their cities and improving the quality of life for residents of their cities in the process.
Two other senior executives from the city of Banjul will benefit from this training program.
The Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative is a “collaboration between Bloomberg Philanthropies, Harvard Kennedy School, and Harvard Business School was made possible by a generous gift to Harvard from Bloomberg Philanthropies in 2016.”
