The Mansakonko Area Council has denied the claims made by Councillor Nfamara Jero Saidykhan regarding a proposal to procure a vehicle for the chairman at a cost of five million Dalasis.
In a statement issued to the press, the council suggested that Councillor Saidykhan may have misunderstood the ongoing discussions about the procurement of the vehicle.
“It has come to the attention of the Mansakonko area council that the King FM radio had an interview with Councillor Jaduma Ward, Mr. Nfamara Jero Saidykhan on Friday, August 30, 2024, where he allegedly claimed the council’s proposal to procure a vehicle for the chairman of the council at a tune of (D5,000.000.00) five million dalasis. In that regard, it’s our view that Saidykhan totally do not understand ongoing discussions relating to the purchase of a vehicle for the chairman,” the council stated.
The council stated that no such amount was ever mentioned in discussions about acquiring the vehicle, and noted that they have minutes and other documentation to refute Councillor Saidykhan’s claims.
“Accurate information would have been duly provided to Mr. Saidykhan before he faces the media on such important matters if he had consulted accordingly. Therefore, the information Mr. Saidykhan relayed during the said interview are completely misleading and incorrect,” the council added.
The Mansakonko Area Council went on to reiterate its commitment to serving the taxpayers and assure the public that it remains focused on delivering the best for the community.
“The council, therefore, disassociates itself from the defamatory allegation of Councillor Nfamara Jero Saidykhan in a King FM radio interview,” the statement concluded.
