The Gambia Police Force has announced the arrest of an 18-year-old, Sheikh Njie, of Latrikunda German, in connection with the alleged theft of sixteen air conditioning compressors valued at D90,000. The arrest followed a breaking and entering incident reported on Monday, November 25, 2024.
“Following a swift investigation into the theft complaint, officers visited the scene and reviewed CCTV footage. The footage revealed the suspect’s involvement in the crime, along with two accomplices who are currently at large,” the police said.
As investigations continue, the police are urging the public—particularly business owners—to consider installing CCTV systems to help deter crimes and aid in future investigations.
