The Police have arrested a 30-year-old with 36 bundles of suspected cannabis being transported on a motorbike along the Jabang- Jambanjelly highway.
“The Police Anti Crime Unit (ACU) and Police Intervention Unit (PIU) conducted intensive patrols last night within KM and WCR. Landing Jallow, 30 years old, and a native of Kerr Serign was nabbed with 3 bags containing 36 bundles of suspected cannabis being transported on a motorbike along the Jabang- Jambanjelly highway,” the Gambia Police Force said in a statement on the Poliso Magazine on Friday.
It added that four other suspects were also arrested for similar offences on the same night.
The statement went on to say arrangements are underway to transfer the matter to the Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigations.
The police urged the public to volunteer information about unusual criminal activities within their communities.
