Fatou Sillah, a reporter for Kerr Fatou, is currently in Beijing, China, participating in the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) program.
The China Public Diplomacy Association has been fostering practical cooperation between Chinese media and counterparts from developing nations since 2014. This effort includes inviting journalists from various countries to China for several months annually.
Since 2018, these initiatives have been consolidated under the banner of the “China International Press Communication Center,” comprising specialized press centers such as the China Africa Press Center, China Asia Pacific Press Center, China Latin America and the Caribbean Press Center, China Tasia Press Center, China-Arab States Press Center, and China-Central and Eastern European Countries Press Center.
The CIPCC program offers a comprehensive agenda, featuring lectures on China’s developmental trajectory, explorations of traditional Chinese culture, media coverage of significant domestic and diplomatic events, exchanges with officials from pertinent ministries and organizations, as well as visits to representative provinces and cities.
Fatou Sillah embarked on her journey to Beijing last Monday and is scheduled to spend four months immersing herself in the diverse facets of Chinese society and media landscape.
