Karafa Sonko has been elected as the new Campaign Manager for the United Democratic Party (UDP), defeating Pa Manneh by a margin of 73 votes to 40.
Sonko fills the position vacated by Momodou Sabally, who recently defected to the ruling National People’s Party (NPP).
In a separate election, Binta Touray was elected to the 2nd Vice President position of the UDP’s women’s wing, previously held by the late Nogoi Njie. Touray secured 50 votes, while Sainabou Joof and Binnet Marong received 26 and 37 votes, respectively.
