Seedy Omar Bensouda, CEO of Insist Net Ltd.
Insist Net Limited launched its INET TV service on Friday at its head office in Fajara. The INET TV bundle is an all-in-one solution that allows customers to watch their favorite local and international TV channels on one platform.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Seedy Omar Bensouda, CEO of Insist Net explained that the company was inspired to create INET TV after hearing from customers who were frustrated with the slow internet speeds they were experiencing when trying to watch content from servers in Western Europe, which are semi-illegal.
” We received a lot of complaints from customers who were using their own set-up boxes to download semi-illegal content from servers in Western Europe. They complained that the internet was slow, but when we checked, there was nothing wrong with the internet. The problem was that the servers they were downloading from didn’t have the capacity to handle a large number of requests.
“”We found that this was a demand and this was something that people wanted to do a lot,” Bensouda said. “We had to figure out a way to make this possible. This was where the inspiration came from. What we did is that we located the servers here, and we are working with international content providers to be able to make the content available on our network.”
Bensouda also said that one of INET’s key focus areas is to provide affordable internet service.
“One of our key focuses since INET started has been providing affordable internet service,” he said. “One of the reasons we exist today is because we felt that the internet was too expensive in The Gambia. The aim of the company is how do we provide affordable internet that can allow everybody to stay online all the time but also to be able to enjoy content and TV all the time.”
Modou Salifu Sambou, the marketing manager of INET, explained the pricing of the service.
“The INET whole content is just nine hundred and seventy-five Dalasi (975) with this amount you will watch your sports, and the English Premier League, Laliga, Bundesliga, the chairmanship league games, and a whole series of interesting movies and sports channels. “Those that are only interested in sports, that is just five hundred and seventy-five Dalasi. If you are interested in movies, Cartoons, Documentaries, International News and other interesting channels, you also have to pay five hundred and seventy-five Dalasi,” He explained.
