Independent Aspirant Jassey Endorses President Barrow
By Buba Gagigo
Independent aspirant Tamsir M. Jassey has endorsed President Adama Barrow as candidate for the December presidential election.
“100% of the executive, militants, and members of our homeland political campaign are supportive of, and were part of the decision making process to back President Barrow as the best option in the upcoming presidential elections. This is clearly a two-man race, and we made the decision for the sake of our national security under the current political climate. As a leader, I am obligated to follow the desires of my followers. Our decision may be a political inconvenience for many, but our focus as a political organization is the national interest of the Gambia based on our view and not anyone else’s,” he stated on Facebook page on Monday.
Prior to his confirmation, photos of him at the State House emerged on social media on Sunday claiming that he had endorsed the president.
Tamsir on 3rd November submitted his credentials to IEC as an independent aspirant during the recently concluded nomination process but later withdrew his bid.
