The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), in preparation for this year’s Local Government elections, is inviting applications from qualified candidates for a variety of positions including that of polling officer.
“The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) wishes to inform the general public that applications are invited from qualified Gambians to serve as polling officials for the conduct of the 2023 Local Government Elections,” the Independent Electoral Commission said through a press release.
The electoral body listed several open positions that they are seeking to hire for. Amongst them are:
“Assistant Returning Officer; Presiding Officer; Assistant Presiding Officer; Polling Assistant and Polling Officer”.
In the released statement, IEC advised that Interested applicants should apply in writing addressed to the Chairman IEC, Election House, Bertil Harding Highway, Kanifing.
“Applications together with copies of relevant certificates and a photo identification document are to be sent to IEC regional offices in Banjul, Kanifing, Brikama, Kerewan, Mansakonko, Janjangbureh, and Basse.
Applicants are to possess at least a Senior Secondary School Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate or Post Graduate Degree.
“Prospective applicants are required to apply directly at the regional office in the Administrative Area they wish to work.
The deadline for submission of applications is Monday 30h January 2023,” the release ends.
