The High Court has today ruled that the arrest and detention of the 3 staff of Global Homes of Medical Missions is unlawful and in-consistent, and violated Section 19 of the 1997 Constitution of The Gambia.

The country director of Global Homes of Medical Missions, Nenneh Freda Gomez, and other two staff- Gilbert Manga and Lamin Sey were on 11th October arrested and charged by the police as row deepens between them over ownership of the property in Bijilo, previously housing the Police Anti Crime Unit.

Following their visit to the property, the trio were arrested, and taken to the Senegambia police post and later transferred to the Kairaba police station where they were charged with two counts of malicious injury to properties and criminal trespassing, before this development.
